Ethernet over Mains

Anyone played with homeplug yet? As in ethernet over mains?

Solwise have a gizmo that retails at about 30 quid, and runs at
10Mbps. Not sure how bandwidth is shared. Would 3 plugs share 10Mbps
bandwidth equally, or is the available 'backplane' bandwidth of the
mains cabling (using the homeplug protocol) greater than that? The
manual suggests that "no more than 10 devices should be active at a
time", although you can install up to 253, and hints that the
backplane BW might be 14Mbps. I also wonder if it completely tramples
on X10 - or vice versa?

It could be the ideal answer to those pesky wireless lan blackspots
and a great way to build out one embedded controller per room...
