Glad to see it wasn't just me who had an unhealthy liking for big bangs.

amongst other things... nitro.. blew up the school chem. lab, brake fluid
and chlorine.. blew up the bike sheds in my flats, black powder .... blew
up
local bus shelter, bean tins in a fire.. nearly blew myself up.

Thankfully my chem. and physics teachers didn't do that much on uranium.
Although my dad was in Japan just after the war finished and
"salvaged" some
bits from Hiroshima  - letter box plate and a bottle from a basement...
which I took to school and passed a geiger counter over.. scary.
