I once mucked about with a nintendo gameboy advance towards these
ends, which was reasonably promising apart from actually interfacing
it to anything, which was a pain.
I have a brand spanky new nintendo DS on the bench which will form
rev2 of this project - should prove a lot easier to interface to as it
has built in 802.11!
