[OT] Problems downloading via IE6

Weird one this.....

When I go to download any file (iTunes in this case), the PC goes off and
tries to do it. Eventually it comes back with the messages:

"Internet Explorer cannot download xxx from xxx.

Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again
later."

Now the really odd thing is that I know it is downloading the file. When I
try the iTunes download, it takes about 5 mins to return the error message,
and during that time there's a lot of network activity. When I go to
download.com and find something small, the message appears within a few
seconds.

This is a bog standard XP Pro PC, with nothing installed other than iTunes
and Skype. Norton Anti Virus is running, but disabling that makes no
difference, nor does turning off the Windows firewall. I can still
download
via iTunes.

Any ideas, please??

Pete
