Yes, actually I am saying this.  Asterisk doesn't send DTMF tones, it
sends a command to 'render' the DTMF tones at the remote end (when it
doing SIP).  This is an efficiency thing.

There are several standard of rendering DTMF tones, they are selected
in the file 'sip.conf' in /etc/asterisk

Therefore what you pop in at one end, might not getting rendered in
exactly the same way at the remote end.
