Electrically, it shouldn't matter at all, since there is no difference
in signaling once your past the master socket.
On the dialling side, even if a '9' prefix can't be added you can get
Asterisk to handle that.
This leaves the issue of passing through DTMF tones, which could be a
bit tricky at the Asterisk application level, since it sends a signal
to send the DTMF tones, and there are few different ways of achieving
this.
Are you taking Asterisk from the headstream and compiling it yourself?
If you are, the 1.04 was pretty good, I haven't collected the 1.05
yet, but they've been suggesting it is ready in the Dev forum.
btw, I love the AGI gateway stuff in Asterisk, I believe the
expression is 'its in the hood'. Lovely.
