RE: Installing MCE...

Hi Mark.

No, I'm really no further than the "playing" stage as yet...

I've just tried installing it on PC's that I have around the place to
get a feel for the UI, so I first tried installing it in a VMWARE
session (didn't work!), then on a spare PC, (didn't work), and finally
as a dual-boot install on my main PC, which as it happens contains
mostly MCE-certified compliant hardware (i.e. a nVidia FX5200 GPU),
which for the most part works, although I have no tuner card in it, and
no certified DVD codec as yet...

I will "play" for quite a bit more yet I think....

Hi Paul,

Have you tried a Media Center Extender at all? I would like to use MCE
as the distribution method TV around the house. I have read reviews of

the XBox extender indicating that the quality of the extended picture is

slightly lower that that of the Media Center. I was wondering if the
Linksys or HP dedicated devices suffered in the same way. Can't find
any reviews of these either :(

Cheers,

M
