Comfort and PBX/Extensions

Does anyone know if it's possible to run Comfort on a PBX extension?
Does it have to be directly connected to a BT telephone line. I seem to
remember reading that the latter was a requirement but can't find where
now I come back to it.

Reason I ask is because I am considering installing an Asterisk PBX and
doing all voice communication via SIP. I could then allocate Comfort an
extension on the PBX (physically connecting it via an analogue to SIP
adapter) and use IVR to route calls to it should I need to do remote
home control, etc. Will this be possible?
