I'm doing the whole house at the minute walls and cathedral roof (no loft).
I've been covered in the stuff every night for the last three weeks along
with swmbo.

Here's a tip only a woman could come up with. Peel of face mask, she
started
using it after the first week.
While my face was covered in tiny bits of rock wool (and spots) she peeled
hers off. I refused to put one on so she got some specifically
for Men (makes all the difference the "For Men" label) so I gave
it a go
"Marvellous".

Cheers

Martin

Its made from (surprise) rock materials (some recycled from other
manufacturing like steel) which is basically melted and then blasted
into cold air where it forms wool like fibres.

Unfortunately it's not as nice on your skin as wool. If you have ever
handled glass wool insulation it's about 100 times more unpleasant.
However, it's very fireproof and is a much better sound insulator as
it's more dense (especially if you can use it in the sheet form), and
a bit more environmentally friendly than glass.

If you are installing it, make sure you use a mask, disposable
clothing (those nice paper suits) and, if putting it in upwards into
the ceiling, goggles! I speak from experience of insulated the first
floor of our house from below as a backing to underfloor heating. It
definately came in the category of never, ever, again!

Regards

Richard
