Hi Pete
The Pioneer 1015 isn't a bad choice. Have you looked at the Denon AVR-3806?
The 3806 is probably out of your price range but if you're not too fussy,
you may get the 3805 model as End-of-Line for a better price. But if it's
still too dear the 2106 is a 7 ch model with auto-setup, and costs less

the Pioneer 1015.
Denon have brought out a new model - the 4306, which is IP addressable, and
has "Ethernet Functions". But it's rather expensive, compared to
the 3806.
It's not on my price list, but appears to have a retail of =A31500.

Eventually all the big names should add Ethernet functionality to all their
receivers. I just wish they'd hurry up!! I think Onkyo brought one out a
couple of years ago, but I don't remember hearing much since.

Subject: [ukha_d] 7.1 AV amp recommendations?
I've been scouring the review sites for a while now, but haven't really
concluded anything, apart from perhaps Pioneer and Yamaha seem to offer the
best value. I'm looking for something with a 7.1 output, with the priority
on movie sound rather than CD (it'll be driving Sonace in-wall/in ceiling
speakers, nothing too fancy). Auto-calibration would be nice, but not
essential. Decent video switching would also be a big plus. I don't care
what it looks like, and a fancy remote isn't needed. I'm sort of drawn to
the Pioneer VSX1015, which has nearly everything I need apart from the

switching. The next model up, the AX2AV does, but costs a bit too much...I
suspect I won't get away with much more than =A3500. I'm not necessarily
looking for something new, but a quick look on eBay and AVForums doesn't
really turn up anything interesting.

Any recommendations?
