I've found in the past that subtle hints simply don't work. My approach
this
time was more direct:

"Are you going to buy me an Xbox 360 for Christmas, or am I going to
sulk
all Christmas day and buy one myself on Boxing day LIKE LAST TIME".

Apart from the fact that it hasn't arrived yet, I at least know she's
ordered one :-)
