Perhaps it is all the smoke coming from Hemel Hempstead?

Would that affect signals?

Subject: [ukha_d] Terrestrial TV - Channels changing today...

Has anyone else noticed/been affected by BBC channels in the SW of
London (Surrey / Hants border) apparently changing today. Terrestrial
comes from Crystal Palace for us.

Before today I had Sky modulating onto channel 44 and my CCTV onto 51.
Both had been absolutely clear of any other channel or even on
embargoed ones (I know cos I'd checked all this when I set it up).
And... it was all working ok yesterday.

This morning, everything went haywire, massive breakup on the cctv and
distributed RF sky. I found BBC1 on 51 and BBC2 on 44 and had to
retune from these for Sat & CCTV purposes.

What was really frustrating was that I'd been working near the CCTV
camera and knocked it. It was when I went to check the alignment that
I found the problem so thought it was the camera etc. It was 2 hrs
(having taken everything apart) before I found the real reason.

Curiously, the new BBC channels seem better (but still not really
adequate) than the old ones (which are still there). It's so obvious
because we get a truely rubbish terrestrial reception anyway.

[Before anyone says, yes oneday I must do better than RF for video
distrib - just waiting for the s-video / rgb solutions to come down to
the price of a Loftbox ;-) ]

Rgds

Richard
