While watching a movie, using a gamepad, use the right hand side thumbstick
and push it upwards, this will bring up a volume control - make sure this
is
turned up.



As for installing multiple xbmc, I do exactly as mark does - and have done
for the couple of 'boxes I've put together for people.

I usually rename the working folder to /xbmc.old  then create a new /xbmc
to FTP new version to.  That way it's easy to go back.
