I've been with Pipex for 3=BD years and they recently upgraded my 1Mb
connection to 2Mb as a matter of course. This has been rolling out as the
local exchanges allow and their policy is to have all 1Mb upgraded to 2Mb.

did nothing.
Give them a call and find out how your exchange is faring.
