Keith Doxy of KAT5 fame has a poll running on UKHA re which protocol
most people use to control their HA gear...

I am guessing that this is to do with which protocols Keith is going to
support within the KAT5 switcher when it launches. The KAT5 switcher is
a long awaited AV matrix switch designed to route balanced audio
(analogue and digital) and video (Composite,S-Video,RGB,Component and
poss VGA) plus IR around your home using CAT5 as the connection to the
already available output modules. This means remote receivers can be
quite distant (several hunred metres) from the matrix switch with no
loss of quality and you can relocate devices easily based on a CAT5
cable availability. Keith has always had the intent to design this for
the HA enthusiast - and to price it accordingly. So if you would like to
see xAP support within this long awaited device get your vote in now.
He's looking at xAP, xPL , RS232, RS485, USB or others. You need to be
a member / join the UKHA group to vote.
