Setting up an Audrey to go on-line

I have recently purchased a 3 COM Audrey device and am having some
problems setting it up. I know that there are a couple of others here
who also use Audreys and wondered if there is anyone that could give
me a pointer as to where I was going wrong.
I have a broadband connecting (static IP address) with a number of
different devices connected both wired and wirelessly.
I have configured the Audrey as follows.
1. The USB-Ethernet adaptor is connected to Audrey and router ( IP
192.168.0.1).
2. I have chosen 'assigned/static IP" * The IP address assigned to
this Audrey is 192.168.0.12, Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 and Gateway :
192.168.0.1
3. I am not sure what to set the DNS addresses to I have both left
them blank and tried to use the Primary and Seconday values as
detailed in my Router set-up neither seem to work.
4. I have not entered in any email details - cancelling out of that
screen, as per the on-screen instructions if email is not required.
I get a static green light on the USB adaptor and a flashing amber
activity light. On the router the port number that the audrey is
connected to flashes Amber (Others are green), changing the port
makes no difference.
My Router web server shows no device 192.168.0.12 attached (or any
device I haven't previously recognised) and I don't connect. I get an
error message Error DNS Failure ' the domain System could not find an
IP address for the given hostname.'
Other devices on that router can go on-line through the same router.
I guess I am doing something silly probably not setting DNS correctly
- any pointers??
Many thanks.
