Re: {Definitely Spam?} OT: Ish VOIP skype

I got one on eBay from voipfans which works OK to connect Skype to my
homebrew PBX as a second "exchange line". This one doesn't pass
the main PSTN line through, so I can't comment on CLI.

Issues are:

Hanging up doesn't clear the Skype buffer. I.e. pick up, dial 1, hang up,
pick up dial 2#, Skype tries to call quickdial 12.
You can't call another Skype user from the phone without first setting a
speed dial for them.

Nice things are:

It is running on my 24/7 server and has no impact on desktop machine use.
The phones ring properly for a Skype inbound call.
Skype and Skype-out calls are easy to speeddial destinations (and cheap for
international calls).
PBX features like call transfer, 3-way work well with Skype calls.

I am trying a second one with Linux Skype, but not having much joy even
though it is advertised as having Linux support - it may be the distro I'm
using or it may be a conflict for the audio port with Myth (part of my my
move to shut down my W2K server)

Pete
