just ignore me please - I didn't spot that the 'proxy_pass_by' line in the
sproxy.conf file was commented out by default.  All working correctly now!

TiVoWeb
fires up successfully when I enter the appropriate address but isn't
prompting me for a user:password.  I'm assuming that's because I'm
connecting internally just now but when I connect externally from work
tomorrow it will prompt me?

Malcolm,

See the previous stuff on Web Server Access. I have mine secured behind
an
ISA Server - it's the reverse proxying thing again. The server takes
care
of
authentication (and even SSL termination, if you want) and forwards the
authenticated requests to the downstream server (in this case, your
TiVo).
