[ADVERT] Multi-Room Audio from your PC through your Mains Wiring

I know we have interest in Multi-Room Audio within the group so thought
this
would be of interest to those of us that find the Sonos great but just too
expensive.

We've just added the devolo MicroLink dLAN Audio Adapter to our range and
for a cheap multi-room audio solution from a Media Center or PC it is hard
to beat.

devolo have developed a range of Home-Plug compatible networking products
that use the mains wiring for the Ethernet connection. They have just
launched an 85mbps version and also the audio adapter as well as the
original 14mbps version. The streaming software for MP3s plugs into MCE
2005, Media Player 10 (so you don't need MCE) and also WinAmp (haven't
tested this though). The units aren't much bigger than a power adapter and
you have one connected to the Ethernet port of your PC and at the other end
the audio adapter has left and right out to plug into your hi-fi or powered
speakers. A very simple software installation and set-up and away you go.
You can't control it in-room but if all you want is to be able to hear your
MP3s in another room it is great.
