The other consideration as you mentioned is the fittings.

I thought that I'd probably get a number of the cheaper LED fittings from
B&Q and replace the LED's (if possible - and cheap enough).

Gerry mentioned that he uses a few plastic frosted 'globes' from Christmas
tree lights for his.

I'm also thinking how to create a 'directed' fitting so that if I was to
mount one or two LED's in some decking for example, I could direct the
light up against a fence, bush etc.

This all depends on how bright the LED's are and how many are needed for a
strong light effect. I think I'll need to order a sample and play with it
before committing to a numbered order from Gerry.
