A possible alternative is to use Wake-On-LAN from another box on your
network. That's what I'm using, as I need WOL to wake the backend from
the remote frontend anyway. Of course that assumes there is another
always-on machine available...
My current pet annoyance is of course motherboards that only support WOL
from 'suspend'. About a useful as a chocolate teapot.
