Hi Paul,

When I put some led's into my parents property, I used the metal housing
available from maplin's - like the ones used in a cabinet.

These were recessed into the mantle piece.

To make them suitable for outdoor use, I'd guess you'd have to get out
the shrink tubing.

Subject: [ukha_d] Anyone bought cheapish garden LED's?

Following on from my other post on Garden LED fixtures and the excellent
RGB LED controller project from Gerry, I was thinking of using a good
looking but cheapish single colour LED fixture (like the type you get at
B&Q etc) and replacing the LED for a snazzy RGB variant all RGB colour
controlled via RS232 :-)

Anyone bought this type of fixture and are they =91hackable=92 ?

The alternative would be to get some fixtures turned up myself or even
invest in that metal lathe I=92ve always wanted!

Paul.
