John,

=20

Thanks for your suggestions.

=20

Yes I have done . there are some in the vicinity but they are locked down.
Plus I did think of this so I set it so that it has the preferred network
a=
s
the one in her flat.

=20

I don't have a different wireless card I can try, but her flat mate with a
totally different computer and wireless card and is still having the same
problem, and I had the same problem at work before I started using Odyssey
Client as well.

=20

I sit in the same place as my girlfriend and often move her computer out of
the way to use mine at the desk.

=20

I really think it has to do with the windows wireless manager but I have
tried everything that I can see.

=20

I guess my only real option is to try and find a wireless card that is
compatible with Odyssey Client! Which I am having trouble with finding! But
surely other people are having similar woes?

Have you done a wireless scan? We had this with one of our senior
managers, when one of our tech's visited there were 16 wireless networks
in the vacinity. Half of them in their default configuration =3D free
internet access.
Have you tried different wireless cards in these machines?
Are you sitting in the same place as your girlfriend? Any mains leads
near by the laptop?
Walls floors all affect the signal, where is the router? Is there an
external ariel? Can the router be rotated?
We have a chap at work who is his own darkspot, he can not get a
connection no matter what he does.
Hope this helps.

I am running a wireless netgear router at my girlfriends flat and
everyone who is on a wireless connection keeps getting disconnected.

However when I am there I do not, but I am using wireless with an
Odyssey Client and not using windows to control my connection.

Unfortunately I cannot get it to work on my girlfriends laptop as it
does not support the wireless card she is using (Buffalo Technology
11mbps PCMICA card).

Has anyone come across this before? It is also a problem on her
flatmates computer which uses a brand new D-link PCI wireless card.

If they are on MSN messenger they get disconnected every 5 mins or so. I
however with my setup have no problems at all. Is there anything I can
do with the windows setup?

Regards,

Ho yin
