I cant let that comment go unanswered as it is blatently untrue. You are
not
comparing like for like. Its like saying that a Ford Galaxy costs more than
a Ford Ka.

I agree the price has gone up over the Mk1 KAT5 units but Mk2 is a vastly
superior product.

If you are going to make any form of comparison is should be with the Mk1
units with IR boards (TXIR and RXIR) whick would have cost you £137,
however
the Mk2 units have several improvements over the Mk1 versions.

The IR Emitters are now similar to Xantech Blink emitters which generally
retail for around £12 each.

The IR receiver is no longer a blob on the end of a bit of wire. It is
mounted in an enclosure and has a feedback LED.

Both transmitter and receiver have DIP switches to configure the units for
different types of installation.

The boards are now assembled by a specialist company and the quality of the
build is far higher.

The end panels of the boxes are now black anodised aluminium with screen
printed legends on one end rather than the plain silver panels of the
previous units.

I would love to be able to sell the units for £99-99 per pair but it isnt
going to happen because KAT5 is built to a quality design and assembled in
the UK, not built down to a price with assembly done in some Far East
factory.

Regards

Keith
