OK I can JUST put up with it not being blue (/me looks for new shoes.).
Is there a dead easy one touch back-up solution out there? Ideally not one
that creates a big back up file like MS Backup as then I'll have to get
involved in the occasional restore procedure! I just want to copy file for
file.

Well, it's not blue... but Linitx do an enclosure for a tenner...

They also do enclosures for 3.5inch drives if you need a bit more
storage...
