Hi,
About 5 or 6 years ago, I started running a Meteor Caller ID box, and
wrote=
some bespoke software to log all incoming and outgoing calls to a database=
. I kept meaning to get the software to a state where it could be used by
=
other people, but what with one thing and another, I never got around to
it=
!
I've recently also started using a Sipura SPA 3000 for outgoing calls
(VoIP=
), and that has given me the incentive to re-visit the issue of getting my
=
Caller ID software up to a releasable state.
The software consists of two parts. A server application which runs on
the=
same machine the Meteor is connected to, logs calls to a database, and use=
s SAPI (voice) to announce calls. In the case of the SPA (which is a
netwo=
rk device) it also listens out for debug UDP messages from the SPA, and
aga=
in announces and logs calls.
It also broadcasts (or, in the case of the SPA, re-broadcasts) via UDP to
c=
lient programs, which run on any PC on the same network, and popup a
little=
message when a call is received.
The client program can also directly receive broadcasts from the SPA if
req=
uired (meaning if you only use a SPA, and don't need to log calls to a DB,
=
you don't need the server program).
The idea is to release the client as freeware, and the server as shareware
=
(probably around =A310).
At this stage I'm looking for people who use SPA-2000/3000 and/or Meteor
bo=
xes to help be beta test both the client and server software.
Any takers?
Thanks,
Adam.
