Following some discussion here about wind generators in January
(windsave.com) I wrote to my planning office. I received this email TODAY.
I'm not sure how to proceed now!

Dear Mr Clark,
=20
We received an enquiry from you on January 28th. It was passed to me for
response and it is with regret that I have to apologise for not having
responded to you. Your query became attached to another file. I trust
tha=
t
the following advice may still be of interest / use to you.

You would require planning permission to install a wind generator. The fee
would be =A3135. Croydon does support the use of sustainable energy which
=
as
you are probably aware can come in several forms such as solar water heater
panels and solar panels for generating electricity. To date we have not
received many applications for wind generators. This general encouragement
has to be balanced with other planning.

The principal considerations for residential properties would be how
prominent it would be in the street and in relation to neighbouring houses.
Also to what extent it might cause problems with noise / vibration. If you
are thinking about putting in an application you should provide as much
information as possible in terms of its height / size, position on the
building, what noise / vibration levels would be achieved.
=20
If you wish to receive detailed information on products and whether there
i=
s
currently any funding available, you may wish to contact Croydon Energy
Network.=20=20
=20
Please contact me should you require any further information. Once again I
apologise for the lengthy delay.=20
