Assuming you have created a folder where all the posts to say this
group arrive (using filters) then just select the folder and choose from
the top menu bar "View > Sort By > Threaded " , also select
'ascending'
or 'descending'  in the menu  as clicking on the date column to sort
will unthread the view . New (unread) additions to the thread cause the
top level title to become underlined and also propogate the title to the
top of the list.  A + next to a  title indicates there are messages
below in the tree view - click to expand.
It's really a useful change if you haven't used a threaded reader
before, particularly with busy groups, like this one can be.
