Generally it varies wildly from industry to industry Paul.

Much of it is down to potential future earnings, assets and other concerns,
for example is a franchise held and stuff like that. To my knowledge there
is no set way to value a business and it's probably best to try to find
someone who has some expertise in the area IMO.
