iMatch from www.photools.com is what I use. It handles EXIF and IPTC
very well, but it's main strengths are categories and scripting...
The learning curve is a bit steep, but that's usually the case with
powerful software.
Categories allow you to create your own categorization structure and
assign any number of categories to each photo. Makes it real easy to
find photos of "Grandpa Joe" by his "Old Car" with
"Grandma Mae".
Some of the features include a slide show, fuzzy logic to find photos
that "look like" another photo, batch re-naming, and auto
creation of
web sites. Many user-created scripts also exist.
There's a free 30 day trial. Purchase price is $50. There's also a
very active support group at yahoogroups (imatchuserforum).
No relation to the company--just a happy user for over 2 years.
