OK - If I were looking to implement something now (rather than awaiting the
mythical beast that is the KAT5 switcher) then I would be looking at the
Kramer s-video matrix switches.

I'm after one myself at the moment but can't quite justify the purchase
right now (partly due to cost and partly due to the fact that even if it
were sitting here at home I have a whole list of stuff to do before that
would get installed).

For control back I'd be looking at using something like RU950's / RU970's /
RU980's in the remote rooms switched to RF and then use the LI900 RF base
back at the kitrack to extract the IR control for the equipment.

It's quite possible that for the tansmission to the remote zones I'd run a
quartet (assuming four destination zones) of Keiths KAT5 transmitters and
receivers as routing CAT5 is a hell of a lot easier than decent s-video and
stereo audio cable and would *PROBABLY* work out about the same cost in the
end (money saved on s-video and stereo audio cable).

Of course the usual disclaimers apply in that yes, I work for a company
that
sells the Kramer switches (as do many others) and sells the Prontos (as do
many others) but I have no financial ties to LetsAutomate other than they
pay my salary (I don't get commission or profit shares) and I'm planning to
use the above kit when I get round to doing that at home.

Phil
