Serial ATA is very different to ATA, and not backwards compatible
(although there are converters).

Your ATA133 motherboard should work just fine with the ATA100 HD, but
only at ATA100 speeds (relatively few HDs can make full use of ATA133,
let alone Serial ATA anyway). In theory if you had a super fast
15,000rpm ATA133 HDD on the same channel, you might slow it down a bit :-)
