Thanks for your suggestions yesterday, unfortunately I still had no joy
:-((
The CD-ROM is on the secondary channel and I've tried the jumper in
*every* position and the machine still won't boot. The only time it does
is when I unplug the CD drive totally.

I'm beginning to wonder if it wasn't a CD drive failure in the first
place, but something else instead :-((

Any thoughts ?
