[OTish] SyncML / Email client / P910i

Hi,

I've just collected my SE P910i and, since I refuse to use Outlook
(express/2004/whatevertheycallitnow) I can't sync any contacts/calendar
entries/emails/notes... the p910i only seems to support syncing with
microsoft stuff. While I understand the reasons for this, it still bugs me.

So, I went on a googlefest and came across a set of php SyncML pages ( http://nicolas.bougues.net/syncml/
) which seem to allow me to sync from the phone to a webserver/pc - it
works both over bluetooth and gprs - but I have no idea how I'm supposed to
add entries to the db to get the phone to pick up either changes or new
entries...everything I've tried has resulted in zero changes on the phone
:/

The main problem is the project appears to have been left for dead, the
author has no time for it now... (we've all been there) - has anyone else
been down this route or does anyone know SyncML that would be willing to
help out?

I like the idea that the backend is a db, it means I can write web and pc
frontends (even xpl/xap) to add, edit, delete, import contacts etc.

I have seen a java implementation but it's extremely bloated - something
I'd rather avoid.

Unfortunately at the moment it seems that I have to change my entire method
of working (mailserver/client) just to get some sync capabilities, which
I'm not really willing to do.

Anyone got ANY ideas on this at all?

Thanks

Andy
