Just spoke to another Geovision supplier (ezCCTV.com) who told me
that if you buy a card now it will be version 6.1 compatible - if
you have older ones (inc. V3 cards) then it would need to be sent
back to the supplier for upgrade. I sounds like a firmware upgrade
is what is required. There is no way to U/G the firmware via a PC /
software util. Looking at the capture cards, there is a plug-able
ROM chip of the type which uses the EPROM machines / programers and
I suspect that would be the item which needs changing / updateing.
In any case, it seems highly impractical to send the cards back and
loose the security system for a week or more. I will try to get
through to Roy at RFconcepts and see if he will ship out new eprom
chips and take old ones back for re-programming.

I do want to move to 6.1 as it has several new features which are
useful - see the geovision site for version history.

Keyvan
