Since the wireless CBUS stuff is not on sale yet and I'm also concerned
that the range will not
be sufficient to cover the whole of my house (solid brick walls chimney
breasts between rooms etc)
I think I'll start fitting the X10 stuff anyway. I can always take
disable/remove it at a later date
when the wireless CBUS kit is available.

So.. back to my original question, Is it OK to run a spur from the ceiling
rose to power a
collection of LD11s ? Are there any problem with effectively feeding the
power for the consumer
unit via a spur from the lighting circuit ? I assume I can just use 1.5mm
lighting cable
