I'll gloss over that, otherwise I may lose my mindless optimism!

Why do I know that feeling?!

You can have quiet clients quite easily. Mini-ITX boxes have the power to
run Xlobby silently. The big downfall of Xlobby is its reliance on a
pointing device. There's no real thought given to controlling it via
cursor keys or IR remote. That's the reason I want to move to MythTV. I
have 8 identical IR remotes with a joypad and usefully labelled menu
buttons. They'll be ideal for a MythTV client. I also happen to have a
number of laptops that have died in various ways. Laptops make ideal
clients as they're normally silent, have a built-in LCD panel, use little
power, and have great power management.

Cheers,
Andy
