Frank,
I've looked at the CBUS stuff but its too expensive, I could just about
afford the Dimmer units etc but then by the time I add on the cost of the
CBUS light switches it becomes too much. There are currently around 20
light switches in the house and so the cost of switches alone would work
out far more than the whole X10 install !
The big advantages of CBUS for me would be faster response times (X10
is slooowwww), and status monitoring (why do 99% of all UK X10 modules
STILL not have any status response !).
Also, I thought that the CBUS light switches needed to connected by cat5,
this
would be a BIG problem for me as running a cat5 cable to each switch would
be a massive job (all my walls are brick and plaster.. no stud walls).
