[OT] Vodafone Blackberry 7100v problem

Just a warning given that we're probably all the early adopter types.
I brought a Blackberry 7100v on Friday. I think it's a great device
and I'll be doing a mini review in a day or so on my website.

But there is a problem... Vodafone! All of the models sold from the
shop I brought mine from in London (docklands) - and probably many
(most?) other stores - were originally programmed as corporate
phones. One of the side effects is that the Browser is disabled!!!!

After about 4 hours on the phone to their tech support and 3 visits
to the store, it's become apparent that the phone will have to be re-
programmed if I ever want to use the browser. And apparently this
isn't something they can do remotely - it needs to be done at certain
of their stores, or sent away. Still waiting for full details, but
this seems to be the situation at the moment.

The thing that gets me most is that they're still selling them in the
stores, even though they know this, and they're not telling
customers! Even more bizzare is that apparently I'm the first person
in docklands to even NOTICE the browser doesn't work - why do people
buy these phones if they don't even try the browser????

anyway - I recommend the phone - when this problems fixed - but until
then - don't bother.
