Re: Zigbee - Belfast Telegraph...

We recently had a demo of some ZigBee hardware and I was not impressed
by the range of the system.
It failed to connect 3 devices together over a range of approx 25 metres
in a straight line. Two of the units where mounted on the other side of
2 fire doors and the only time we saw a signal was when the fire doors
where open. Maybe something to do with the steel in the doors and the
wire mesh, who knows, but it was a very poor show.

Unit 1 FireDoor Unit 2 FireDoor Unit 3
o ! o
! o

Unit 1 could not see unit 2 or 3, even when they are supposed to relay
through each other.

Would be interesting to take my ZWave system into work and try it out
there in the same locations and see what happens.
