RE: Re: TomTom Go

The Morpheous database takes into account those cameras that can be set up
to face either way, and will warn regardless of direction of travel (and
I'm
sure the other databases do too). All cameras only work in one direction
of
travel - Gatso are away from the camera. Because people were appealing the
penalty by saying that they didn't know who was driving at the time,
Gatso's
are slowly being replaced by Truvelo camera, which take the picture as you
drive towards them. This page has more info...

It _can_ take into account direction of travel but then you could miss
cameras on the central reservation that have been turned round or cameras
on
the opposite side of a single carriageway. Anyway, can you not get caught
which ever side of the road the camera is on (subject to it _seeing_ you or
course)?

The thing I found was that it did not take into consideration, the
direction
of travel and reported cameras on the opposite side of the road too.

Not having any of the dedicated units like the Road Angel, I can not
comment
on whether they do this too. Anyone care to comment?

Dave...
