OK,
So I am now the proud owner of a new TomTom Go unit... :-)
I've downloaded and installed the 4.40 software update,
So what's the "best" speed camera POI database? -
"Best" as in most accurate
and most frequently updated?
Incidentally, It's worth mentioning that the TTG has *no* problems
whatsoever getting a strong, stable GPS lock in my car (which has one of
those darned heat-reflective screens), whereas my old iPaq based Navman
setup was pants.... I have however mounted it in a different place, so that
may have helped... - the Navman was in the middle of the dash, above the
centre console, whereas the TTG is over to the right hand side, just near
the drivers door mirror. - It may well be the case that the coating on the
screen doesn't extend to the very edges, and hence the better performance.
Quite honestly, I don't care about it enough to bother to do any testing to
find out!
So, anyone wanna buy a Navman-based satnav system, - works perfectly
provided you *don't* have a heat-reflective windscreen....
