I use 'Collins Complete Wiring and Lighting '.  ISBN: 0007164408.  Amazon
have it for =A37.19.  Very good book IMHO

WHSmiths usually have the big grey Collins DIY book, which has good=20
coverage of electrical stuff. Worth checking they've updated it for the=20
harmonised wiring colours that are due soon (?) though...
