Maybe I'm confused...remembering I'm in a very limited environment, this is
what I have....

Netgear DG834 Router under the stairs
1 x TiVo - bedroom - no connection
1 x PC - bedroom - wireless connection
1 x laptop - 'study' - wireless connection

So at the moment, the only connection to TiVo is via the PC that sits a few
feet from TiVo, or I stick a wireless thingy on the end of the TivoNet drop
lead, no?

I am rather confused. Couldn't you just connect your TivoNET directly to
your Ethernet switch for it to communicate with Tivo HQ for downloading
guide data? With the TivoNET card installed, there should be no need at
all for the modem.
