There are filters on all the sockets, t'was the first thing I did, in the
hope that the ADSL might get switched on in advance of the commissioning
date (it didn't!)

There is a network card in the PC....I'll get myself a crossover cable and
give it a go....

Firstly your phone is probably dieing because you don't have filters on
each

outlet :) (I fell for that one)

If you add a network card to the pc I think you can bridge it in windows
xp.

I have my tivo wirelessly connected using a wap11 in ap client mode and a
crossover cable and it works fine.
