I believe it's called a wave guide and is indeed made of mica. I had to
replace mine recently (two, one top and one at the bottom) and they were =
=A36
and =A39 each. I got mine from Dixon Postal Spares, Spares-by-post who I'm
sure I found online but I can't find their web site this morning. Their
telephone number is 01377-270666. HTH

My 2YO sharp microwave has taking to producing impressive flames etc
inside.
On closer inspection the exit of the Microwave "tunnel" is
covered with a
postcard-sized silver micaceous material which has become thinned and is
starting to burn through. I must be able to get a spare as it just slots
in, but I don't know what it is called and if the device is safe to use
without it?
Any steers?
Tim.
