There is, but i also had a similar problem with two pc's post XP,
and it turned out to be dodgy memory chips.

The way to tell is the Virus shows a dialog saying mentioning RPC,
then a gracefull shutdown starts. With the memory problem, the
machine just rebooted instantly- screen turned black, then POST
started, as if the power had been flicked.

The POST memory tests never spotted the memory fault though- which
was sporadic- i had to download a more throurough memory test
program, whose name currently evades me
