[OT?]Unicol plasma brackets + general mounting issue
Hi folks,
Does anyone have experience of these brackets?
http://www.unicol.com/doubleswingwall.html
I'm looking at this double jointed one for a 43" screen.....which when
I
was in the Sevenoaks shop the other day they said you could not get for
plasma's because they are too heavy....but I dunno if they are any good or
not.
The site says they are "fingertip control", so one would assume
v.easy to
manouver, but they might be lying - the low price is worrying in that
respect....
The other thing is mounting of the screen, whatever bracket I end up
getting.
I know ideally, they would mount to solid wall, but I have this (plan
view):
brick layer
-----------------------------------------
_ _ _ <- battens, with insulation inbetween.
-----------------------------------------
plasterboard layer.
Would it be best to cut a chunk out the plasterboard and affix directly to
the brick behind, or could I for example, ensure that it rested on two
battens and put bolts through the plasterboard (and battens if requied?)
and then into the wall?
Or could it be fitted just to the plasterboard? (I expect not but wanna
throw it in there as a option!)
thanks in advance, oh knowledgable ones.
Tony.
