VGA and serial extenders
I've used a Belkin extender to run my Geovision PC which is situated in=20
the Garage from my "office" at the back of the house. A
convoluted route=20
that must be about 30m. It works reasonably well - the display is=20
slightly green and there are limitations regarding the resolution - I=20
think the max is 1078x768 but naturally I can't find the manual now to=20
let you know for sure. I use 1024x768 as the output also goes via an UHF=20
modulator to the TV distribution system.
My setup uses a bus mouse and one of the things I do remember from the=20
manual is that it states that only a standard mouse should be used but=20
I've just tested using the wheel and that seems to work. This may be a=20
limitation for the touch screen as I don't know how they transmit=20
'touches'.
If you have any other questions such as dimensions/power let me know and=20
I'll try to answer them.
Oh and it was quite expensive - I guess as it is rather corporate data=20
centre budget.
