Well, what a complete turnip ! :-)
Mebe the lettering "568A" on the back of ALL the RJ45<>BT
converters I
have was a give away ??
Yep - changing the wiring at the Master Socket to Green/White on the
ringer was the solution. Thanks chaps !

As there are 2 standards for wiring Cat5 cable (568A and 568B), see below,
could it be that your standard CAT5 wiring is to one standard and the
adaptors you are using are to another?
If so, and assuming you have punched down all 1 circuits at your patch
bay,
try connecting the Green/White terminal from you patch bay to pin
3(Orange/White) at your NTE5 point.

Patrick
Those are PABX not PSTN adators.
Mebe I have it wired wrong at the master socket ? As the NTE5 socket (the
incoming feed) I have the following wired to the patch panel :
2 - Blue/White
3 - Orange/White
5 - White/Blue
Then the patch panel is wired in series to the other sockets. I can take
all
other connections off so I have one phone plugged in. If I use a secondary
pbx socet, it's all fine - except the phone doesnt ring. If I plug in a
master into another socket (with no phone in it) the phone rings. but I
get
echo.
:-(
